Ten years ago, T-Pain became the biggest name in the industry, out of nowhere. The Florida whatever he was did his thing with the auto-tune and had everybody doing it by 2009. Before Jay Z ended the movement, he put out some pretty dope music.
Debuting in 2005, T-Pain had a little momentum with “I’m Sprung,” but really took off with “I’m In Luv (Wit A Stripper).” The song was released in January 2006 and it took over the radio. In 2005-2006, the breakout artist was Mike Jones and he was on every remix.
T-Pain, ten years ago, was all over the place and he’s still cashing in on this one song a decade later. It’s not quite clear what Mike Jones is up to, but he is more than likely letting it be known what he just said. In the meantime, their 2006 hit, “I’m In Luv,” is this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
