Twista – “Prayer” [VIDEO]

Twista embraces his spiritual side in Prayer video

Twista has had one of the most unique journeys in the history of hip hop. A Chicago native, Twista was a well known local rapper. For most of his career, Twista enjoyed underground success. At the same time, Twista had ties to Dame Dash, who wanted to sign him to Roc-A-Fella Records. In 2000, Memphis Bleek featured Twista on the “Is That Yo Chick” remix.

Unexpectedly, Twista saw his career take off in 2003. At the end of 2003, Kanye West took major steps towards launching his rap career. Kanye West linked with Jamie Foxx, giving him an early look as a singer. Together, Kanye West, Twista, and Jamie Foxx created “Slow Jamz,” which was officially for Twista’s album. As a result, Twista topped Billboard Hot 100, and had a number one album.

From 2003 until 2005, Twista was one of the biggest rappers in the game. Slowly, Twista faded from the spotlight, and had a brief resurgence in 2010. Over the past twelve years, Twista has returned to enjoying underground success. Recently, Twista dropped his Shooter Ready project, and “Prayer” is included on the album. The video dropped last week.
