The Weeknd – “Gasoline” [VIDEO]

The Weeknd delivers Thriller-inspired Gasoline music video

Last week, The Weeknd dropped his much-hyped Dawn FM album. The Toronto singer has been making moves for over a decade. When he began his career, The Weeknd was one of many artists trying to get seen, via mixtapes. But, having Drake by his side helped him get introduced to a much wider audience, early in his career.

The Weeknd already had the talent, but the exposure helped him become a true force. By 2012, he had a hit single, in “Wicked Games,” which ended up putting him on the map. However, there were many singers occupying his lane. For three years, The Weeknd was massively overlooked, but this changed in 2015.

Since 2015, The Weeknd has consistently dropped nothing but top ten singles. Several times over, he has dropped singles that topped Billboard Hot 100, anyway. Recently, The Weeknd returned to the top of the charts. Now, he is making a play for his legacy, as there’s an argument that he is a legend. This morning, he premiered the “Gasoline” music video. This visual is clearly inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

This could potentially be the song of the summer.
