Steve Kerr gets ejected and Ja Morant laughs at the Warriors

Watching the Golden State Warriors, over the past three years, is nothing like the Warriors of old. In 2014, the Warriors were a rising contender in the West. The Warriors surprised the Los Angeles Clippers, taking them to seven games, in the first round. That offseason, the Warriors surprised the sports world, when they let Mark Jackson go as their head coach. They brought Steve Kerr in, who had no prior coaching experience.

Steve Kerr inherited a good team, with Stephen Curry leading the way. It was under Kerr’s coaching that Stephen became Steph, developing into an MVP. This same span of time saw Klay Thompson go from being a great complimentary player to being a star in his own right. Together with Draymond Green, the Warriors went from 51 wins to 67 wins, and the championship. The next season, the Warriors won an NBA record 73 games, but were upset in the NBA Finals, before winning two more titles.

Injuries and internal fighting stopped the Warriors from winning the 2019 title. By 2020, the Warriors bottomed out as the NBA’s worst team, as the core was out for most of the season. Last year, Steph Curry willed the Warriors into the play-in. During the first part of this season, the Warriors were 25-6, but it all fell apart. The Phoenix Suns put distance between them. Last night, the Grizzlies did the same, beating Golden State 123-95. At halftime, Steve Kerr went off, getting ejected, while Ja Morant laughed.
