It has been incredibly frustrating to be a Laker, or a Lakers’ fan this year. By 2018, LeBron James grew tired of Cleveland, and was looking to move on. Throughout his final season with the Cavs, LeBron James was rumored to be interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers had endured many struggles since 2013, when Kobe Bryant injured his Achilles. Kobe Bryant retired in 2016, delivering an epic performance in what was the worst Lakers’ season ever, at 17-65.

By 2018, the Lakers were improving. They had a young core led by Brandon Ingram. Two nights ago, Brandon Ingram led the New Orleans Pelicans to a comeback win over the Lakers. LeBron James joined the Lakers, playing the same position as Ingram. After one season, Ingram was traded to New Orleans, along with other key pieces, for Anthony Davis. In 2019, the Lakers missed the playoffs, but in 2020, LeBron James and AD won the championship.

After bringing most of the 2020 core back, along with Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony, the Warriors were expected to contend for another title. Instead, the Lakers have struggled all season long and Russell Westbrook is being blamed. Playing the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers were getting blown out, all game long. During a timeout, Russell Westbrook took over the timeout, and he went off on his teammates.
