Rick Ross recruits DreamDoll for Wiggle and releases video
A vacuum was left, after Jay-Z began spending most of his time in the board room. Yes, he still drops albums, and still comes with classics, but he doesn’t consistently come with music, anymore. When Jay-Z took that step back, Rick Ross filled that void. While most credited Lil Wayne as the heir apparent, Ross was the one dropping albums every year.
In 2011, Rick Ross had the biggest year of his career, and he didn’t even put an album out. But, his long list of features, and headlines he commanded led the way. While Ross didn’t drop a 2011 album, he established Maybach Music, and dropped the first compilation album. The decade since then has seen him continue to put new music out.
Rick Ross is no longer the biggest rapper in the game, but he remains a force. It’s a new era and it’s one where girls can go on “Love & Hip Hop” to use it as a platform to launch a music career. Yeah, it worked big for one person, in particular, but DreamDoll has also had moderate levels of success. Ross turned to her for his single, “Wiggle,” and returned with the music video, this morning.
