Power Book II Ghost Season 2 Episode 6 preview
At the end of the “Power Book II: Ghost” midseason finale, Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.) was arrested. Karma finally came back to him. In the original “Power,” Tariq was a major antagonist. Prior to killing Ghost (Omari Hardwick), he got his sister, Raina (Donshea Hopkins) killed. Despite his promises, he kept going back to the street life. Kanan (50 Cent) had a huge influence on him.
Tariq emerged from everything in the original “Power” unscathed. But, as the investigation with Detective Whitman (Jeff Hephner) and Kamaal Tate (Lahmard Tate) heating up, karma came for Tariq. Carrie (Melanie Liburd) set Lauren (Paige Hurd) up to wear a wire on Tariq. She misled her into believing Brayden (Gianni Paolo) was the person of interest.
Behind the scenes, Cane (Woody McClain) put in work to frame Tariq for the murders of Jabari (Justin McManus) and Detective Ramirez (Shalim Ortiz). Under Mecca’s (Daniel Sunjata) guidance, he framed Tariq, leading to his arrest. This leaves Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) a free man, but there’s the secret of Monet (Mary J. Blige) and Mecca being his parents.
Now, Lorenzo (Berto Colon) is out, thanks to Diana (LaToya Tonodeo), but Monet took the credit. Cane is looking for a way back in the family, via Lorenzo. According to the previews, Monet tells Cane that won’t work, as Lorezno still favors Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray). Now, Davis McClean (Method Man) and Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) are working to prove Tariq’s innocence.
