Payton Pritchard hits half court buzzer beater that doesn’t count | Heat at Celtics | Game 4 | Eastern Conference Finals | 2022 NBA Playoffs [VIDEO]

Payton Pritchard hits half court buzzer beater that doesn’t count

Payton Pritchard was even going off, last night. That is the kind of game the Boston Celtics were having. It seems like the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics face off at least every other year. Until 2010, the Heat and Celtics never faced each other in the playoffs. Much of it was due to timing, as the Celtics were in decline when the Heat were becoming contenders. Meanwhile, each time the Celtics returned to contention, the Heat were struggling.

Payton Pritchard was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2020. Pritchard joined the Celtics the season after they were eliminated by the Heat in the bubble. The 2020 playoffs marked the ten year anniversary of when the Heat first played the Celtics in the playoffs. In 2010, the “Big 3” Celtics were making their last Finals run. The Heat were their first round opponent. It was Dwyane Wade’s last season before Miami formed their own “Big 3.” From there, Boston never beat Miami again, in the playoffs.

Payton Pritchard has not been a favorite of the Miami Heat, this postseason. Erik Spoelstra was upset with the foul Pritchard had on Jimmy Butler. Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics’ fans have thoroughly enjoyed Payton Pritchard. At the end of the third quarter, Payton Pritchard threw up a near impossible shot. Pritchard made the shot. While Boston got everything they wanted, they could not get that shot to count.
