A video went viral over the weekend where a Panera Bread employee showed how their mac and cheese are actually made. A frozen pack of it was put in boiling water, took it out, and then poured it into a bowl.
The woman working there who posted the video claimed on Twitter that she was fired for it. Panera isn’t confirming the firing but defended the way the mac and cheese was made by saying it’s “made offsite with our proprietary recipe developed by our chefs.” (Via The Washington Post) They added what the food being frozen is necessary for delivery and to avoid using preservatives that “do not meet our clean standards.”
If true, it’s definitely weird that the woman would be fired for something as simple as showing how Panera Bread’s food is made. The customers have a right to know. Check out the viral TikTok video below.
