Moneybagg Yo has been one of the biggest stars in hip-hop of 2021 for sure. His fourth studio album, “A Gangsta’s Pain,” was released in April, and became his first number one project. That was led by hits such as “Hard For The Next” and “Wockesha.”
The Memphis rapper is also expanding his Bread Gang record label. Moneybagg already has a hot artist on the roster now, with BIG30, and he is bringing in R&B artists in as well. Moneybagg has announced that he’s signed Jan’niyah, an artist out of Atlanta.
Ja’niyah had been known for being friends with Summer Walker, and fans loved her R&B content as well. Currently, she has over 76.9k followers on Instagram. Ja’niyah took to her IG feed after getting signed, to express how grateful she is for the opportunity, and the struggles she overcame in getting to this point.
“Yo what?! Thank you so much @moneybaggyo for believing in me and giving this chance to show who I am. I literally just got done crying, it doesn’t feel real, like I used to record in my closet and in the corner of my apartment, I remember writing songs in the strip club at work in strokers. This time last year I was going through severe depression, I felt so empty and alone, and all I had was my pain and music.”
Ja’niyah even added that things got to a point where she had multiple suicide attempts. Now, she is finally seeing the breakthroughs that she prayed for.
“I’m so thankful to my friends, cause without you guys I wouldn’t be here. But @grant_walker3 you was there through it all , you picked me up and healed me , you saw me for me and loved me you saved me. Man CHASE YO MOTHER F**ing DREAMS. I swear, it’s possible, I’m just a girl who watches anime and make music. I’m so excited to share my story. I hope you guys appreciate my vulnerability.”
