Milwaukee Bucks get dominating win in Game 1 over Boston Celtics
The Milwaukee Bucks are the NBA’s defending champion. But to watch this season play out, it would be easy to forget about the Bucks. Despite Giannis having another dominant season and the Bucks winning a solid 51 games, they were overlooked. In the East, the Chicago Bulls were the story at first. Once the Bulls imploded, it was all about the Brooklyn Nets. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid put up MVP numbers to keep the Philadelphia 76ers in it. Ultimately, the Miami Heat ended up topping the East.
While the East had teams fighting for position, the Boston Celtics were out of contention. A year after being the seventh seed, the Celtics were not even a play-in team. However, Jayson Tatum became a superstar, and led the Celtics back to the playoff picture. Tatum led the Celtics to the second seed and the NBA’s best record after the New Year. Out West, the Suns, Grizzlies, and Warriors dominated all of the talk.
In the East, the Boston Celtics had the only sweep of the first round. The up-and-down Brooklyn Nets beat Cleveland in the play-in to earn the seventh seed. When they faced the Celtics, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart were too much for them. However, when the Bucks came to town, Giannis reminded them he is the Finals MVP. Without Khris Middleton, Grayson Allen, Jrue Holiday, and Bobby Portis stepped up for a commanding Game 1 win in Boston.
