Lizzo plays her mom a song she made for her in her honor
In 2019, Lizzo came seemingly out of nowhere to take over the game. Her run actually began in 2013, when she was still a local artist. By 2015, she caught the attention of Atlantic Records, and she released “Good as Hell,” early in 2016.
Lizzo emerged in 2016 as a relatively successful artist. She was signed to a major label and definitely an artist on the scene. For many artists who have emerged from the local level, this is a huge accomplishment. But, there was much more in store for Lizzo, who made it happen. She re-emerged in 2019 and rose to the top of the music world.
Much of the success Lizzo had came from the music she released in 2016. The summer of 2019 saw Lizzo become one of the most-popular names in music. Obviously, the year of 2020 made everybody alter their plans, Lizzo included. However, during the summer of 2021, Lizzo returned with her single, “Rumors,” featuring Cardi B. That song ended up returning Lizzo to Billboard’s top ten. Since releasing that single, Lizzo has gone viral for her antics. This morning, she went viral when she played her mom a song she intends to release in her honor.
