All season long, Kyrie Irving has been the topic of discussion. During the offseason, the question was whether or not a healthy Kyrie would have led to a Brooklyn championship. Last season, the Nets went all out to compete for a championship. For all of the work the Nets’ management did, Brooklyn still lost to the Bucks in the second round. They would go onto watch the Bucks win the championship people said they would have.
Kyrie Irving has missed the bulk of this season, due to his refusal to get the vaccine. Currently, Kyrie Irving is only allowed to play road games. While the Nets have been trying to figure their situation out, the NBA has moved forward. In the East, the Heat, Bucks, Sixers, Bulls, Celtics, and Cavs have claimed the secured six spots. Meanwhile, the Nets are battling with the Raptors, Hawks, and Hornets over the final two playoff spots, putting them firmly in the play-in.
Tonight, Kyrie Irving shifted the focus away from his controversy, and onto his play. On “NBA Today,” they discussed Kyrie Irving’s situation. It was confirmed he would play tonight, but people questioned how well he would play. Kyrie Irving answered those questions with 60 points. At one point, Markelle Fultz blocked Kyrie, and he talked some trash behind it. In response, Kyrie Irving put him on roller skates, twice crossing him up.
