Khris Middleton sprains his MCL during Game 2 vs Bucks

Khris Middleton was key in the Milwaukee Bucks’ championship series vs. the Phoenix Suns. During the first two games, the Phoenix Suns won at home. In Game 2, however, Giannis Antetokounmpo went off with a 40+ game. Despite Giannis giving the Suns over 40 points, the Bucks still lost. Khris Middleton stepped up in Game 3, delivering his own 40-piece, alongside Giannis. The play of Khris Middleton ignited the Bucks to overcome a 0-2 hole to win the series.

Khris Middleton proved to be a very effective second option. When the 2021-2022 season began, Khris Middleton dealt with injuries. In fact, a lot of the Milwaukee Bucks’ roster dealt with injuries. However, that didn’t stop the Bucks from taking the first seed, however brief. Once the East rounded itself out, the Bucks looked like they would become the second seed. Jayson Tatum and the Celtics had other plans, though, pushing the Bucks to third.

Throughout the early portion of the season, the Chicago Bulls held onto the first seed. While many say the Bulls overperformed, they had injuries to Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine. Had the Bulls not had injuries, it’s not too outlandish that they remained a top three team. However, the narrative became that the Bulls can’t beat good teams. In Game 2, the Bulls managed to steal home court advantage from the Bucks. No question, Khris Middleton injuring his MCL, and leaving the game helped Chicago.
