Yesterday, the Brooklyn Nets went into Miami and defeated the Heat. Early in the season, when it was just Kevin Durant and James Harden, the Nets had the East’s top record. When the Nets lost Kevin Durant to injury and Kyrie Irving’s drama, they fell apart. Despite the eleven game losing streak, which saw James Harden traded for Ben Simmons, critics still picked the Nets to be contenders. As the Nets struggled, the Heat succeeded.

In 2019, Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat. During the shortened season, the Heat earned the equivalent of a 49-33 record. In an unusually competitive East, the Heat only landed the fifth seed. That was still good enough to upset the Pacers and Bucks, before taking out the Celtics. Jimmy Butler led the Heat to the NBA Finals in his first season there. After tough 2021 season, where the Heat earned the sixth seed, and got swept by the Bucks, they have dominated.

Lately, the Miami Heat have been falling apart. Jimmy Butler nearly fought Erik Spoelstra and Udonis Haslem in the middle of the game. This current run has seen the Heat lose the first seed to the Sixers, where James Harden now plays. Yesterday, the Miami Heat hosted the Brooklyn Nets, who blew the Heat out. During the game, Kevin Durant and PJ Tucker were battling for the ball. Tucker went under Durant, tripping him, and KD nearly hurt his back.
