Kevin Durant passed the game-winning shot to Cam Thomas | Spurs at Nets [VIDEO]

Kevin Durant passed the game-winning shot to Cam Thomas

Through his career, Kevin Durant has had an interesting history with the San Antonio Spurs. During his time with the Thunder, the Spurs became their biggest rivals. Due to the Spurs’ consistency, when he signed with the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio was still the biggest rival. The biggest threat to the Warriors 2007 title aspirations were the Spurs, but Kawhi Leonard’s injury ended that threat.

Unfortunately, Kawhi Leonard deciding to sit out with the Spurs and force a trade put an end to the dynasty. Ultimately, Kawhi forced himself out of San Antonio, but the team played in the 2018 playoffs, where they’d lose to the Warriors, again. This time, Golden State took San Antonio out in the first round, and soon Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors, for DeMar DeRozan.

The Spurs had a solid duo in Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge, with Leonard replaced by DeRozan. By the summer of 2021, Aldridge was playing for the loaded Brooklyn Nets, and DeMar DeRozan is leading the Chicago Bulls. In a shocking turn of events, DeRozan’s Bulls have the East’s best record, ahead of the Nets, who dominate all headlines, and the Bucks.

The Nets were looking for the win, over the Spurs. In the clutch, Kevin Durant had the ball. But, he decided to pass the game-winner off to Cam Thomas. Cam made sure the Nets got the win.
