Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat in 2019. Butler was the missing piece for a Miami team that was in flux. In the post-“Big 3” era, the Miami Heat struggled to find an identity. While the Heat were no longer a good team, they weren’t a bad one either. Dwyane Wade returned to being the team’s leader and they returned to being a fringe playoff team. In 2016, Wade led the Heat on a surprising playoff run. After the season, Wade signed with the Bulls.

Jimmy Butler took over the reins of the Chicago Bulls from Derrick Rose. In 2015, Jimmy Butler put his name on the map. By 2017, the Bulls were stagnant, and Butler was traded to Minnesota. Wade returned to Miami, a team that was solid, whether they made the playoffs or not. The return of Wade gave Miami a boost to return to the playoffs. By 2019, Wade was retiring and Jimmy Butler now played for the Sixers, who lost to the Raptors in the playoffs.

Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat, after Wade retired. The 2019 Heat were good, but had no true leader. Since 2019, Butler has been that, leading the Heat to the 2020 NBA Finals. In 2020, it was unexpected. This year is a different story. After going up 2-1, over the Celtics, Boston blew Miami out in Game 4. As a result, the Celtics’ fans taunted. As a competitor, Jimmy Butler was annoyed by this. Anyhow, the Heat and Celtics return to Miami tied at 2-2.
