Jimmy Butler gets carried off the court after ankle injury

Jimmy Butler joined the Miami Heat, during the 2019 offseason. The Heat were coming off a year where they barely missed the playoffs. Dwyane Wade retiring was the highlight of the season, as he scored 25 points in his final game. With Wade gone, for good, the Heat needed a new franchise star, and Jimmy Butler left the Philadelphia 76ers to join the Heat.

Back to having his “own” team, Jimmy Butler put the Heat back into playoff contention. Of course, the 2020 season was stopped, midseason, and resumed months later, during the bubble. The Heat earned a trip to the bubble, gained the fifth seed, and then did the impossible. They went on an improbable Finals run, toppling the Milwaukee Bucks, along the way.

Last season, the Miami Heat were unable to build on their momentum, which saw them two wins away from the championship. They ended up playing the Bucks, again, and this time Giannis and his squad swept the Heat, in the first round of the playoffs. This season, the Heat are holding their own as the East’s fourth seed.

Tonight, they had the perfect chance for a statement game, going to San Francisco to play the Golden State Warriors. The game was competitive, until Jimmy Butler went down with an ankle injury. His injury was so rough, initially, that even Draymond Green offered him help. However, Butler was carried off the court by his Heat teammates.
