Jayson Tatum trash talks Nets and says Celtics will sweep them

Jayson Tatum is the Boston Celtics’ unexpected franchise player. While Jayson Tatum was the third overall draft pick, the Celtics were coming off a year where they were the East’s first seed. Led by Isaiah Thomas, the Celtics went to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018. The team Jayson Tatum was drafted by had a revamped roster. Kyrie Irving replaced Isaiah Thomas and Gordon Hayward was his running mate. Even with injuries, they went 56-26, earning the second seed.

Jayson Tatum, along with Jaylen Brown, were forced to take lead roles. Gordon Hayward missed the entire season, due to injuries. A late season injury also kept Kyrie Irving out. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had to figure it out. The Bucks, led by Giannis, forced the young Celtics to a Game 7, but Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were no threat in their Philadelphia 76ers playoff debut. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown nearly took out the Cleveland Cavaliers in LeBron James’ final season there.

Jayson Tatum had a huge rookie campaign, but had to go back to a reduced role. However, as the Celtics kept bringing in players who didn’t last as the franchise guy, Jayson Tatum slowly stepped up. This season, Jayson Tatum is the Celtics’ undisputed leader. Last night, Jayson Tatum showed it by leading the Celtics to a comeback Game 2 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Tatum’s confidence was showing, as he shouted “we’re gonna sweep those MFers.”
