All season, the Philadelphia 76ers have been the talk of the league. Last season, fans expected the Sixers to battle with the Brooklyn Nets for the Eastern Conference championship. Instead, both teams were upset in the second round’s Game 7. In the end, the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks faced off for the Eastern Conference Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks won and won the championship, with Giannis having a classic Finals MVP series.

Entering this season, the Sixers, Nets, Bucks, and Hawks have all struggled to a certain degree. Every team showed signs of life, but the Nets decided to trade James Harden to the Sixers for Ben Simmons. Without Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid had the Sixers playing well. They overcame a tough start to land the third seed, at the time behind the Heat and Bulls. Currently, the Sixers have slipped to the third seed, still trailing the Heat, but now also the Bucks.

Last night, the Sixers were trying to close out the Toronto Raptors. James Harden had the ball late and was trying to tie the ballgame, with 2.7 seconds left. Instead, he unintentionally threw an elbow, which landed on Chris Boucher’s throat, as he airballed the game tying shot. On top of that, an offensive foul was called. Adding insult to injury, Chris Boucher would get the ball, on the other end, and score the final three points of he game. The Raptors won 93-88, in Philly.
