James Harden has words with Joel Embiid as Celtics blow Sixers out

During his press conference, James Harden said he wanted to join the Sixers in 2021. A core trio of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and James Harden would have likely won last year’s title. Instead, he went to the Brooklyn Nets, who were upset by the Giannis-led Milwaukee Bucks. Harden played for the Nets, but grew frustrated when they went on a nine game losing streak. With Kevin Durant out and Kyrie Irving only playing road games, the Nets struggled.

James Harden is finally in Philadelphia and the Sixers were rolling, beforehand. At the end of 2021, Joel Embiid began a scoring run when the 76ers were struggling. However, the scoring began translating into wins. The wins took Philly from outside of the playoffs to battling the Bulls, Heat, Bucks, and Cavaliers for the first seed. Adding Harden should make Philadelphia the East’s top team, on paper. However, they are off to a terrible start.

To land James Harden, the Sixers gave up Seth Curry, in addition to Ben Simmons. Curry has been a solid scorer for Philly, this season. While Harden is a Sixer, he isn’t playing yet, which meant Joel Embiid was truly shorthanded, last night. Jayson Tatum feasted on this, as the Celtics’ winning streak continues, as they got a blowout win over the Sixers. Now, Boston has added themselves to the conversation, while Harden pulled Embiid aside to have words.
