Ja Morant power dunks on Robin Lopez
The past two seasons, the Memphis Grizzlies have been an emerging playoff team. In 2018, the Grizzlies drafted Ja Morant, and he was predicted to be a superstar. His first season, the Grizzlies remained a 20 plus win team. In 2020, the Grizzlies were a fringe playoff team, and in 2021, Ja Morant finally got into the playoffs. Morant led the Grizzlies to a Game 1 win over Utah, before the Jazz ended their season in five games.
Ja Morant came into the season ready to put his name and his team on the map. Morant came in determined to turn the Grizzlies into contenders. This season, the Grizzlies emerged as a top four teams in the West. Memphis is the third unlikeliest team to be contending, but they are. Even the NBA’s top team, the Suns, were projected to take a step back, as the new-look Lakers emerged. Whatever the case, the West is led by the Suns, Warriors, Grizzlies, Jazz, and Nuggets.
Last night, the Grizzlies played the Magic, in Orlando. Ja Morant led Memphis to an easy win over Orlando. Ja Morant came in and got the highlight dunk over Robin Lopez.
