Isaiah Thomas scores his first points with the Dallas Mavericks | Mavericks at Kings [VIDEO]

Isaiah Thomas has had one of the most-complicated journeys in NBA history. He began his career as the final draft pick and was a role player for a young Sacramento Kings team. Though IT showed flashes of greatness, he was regarded as a role player. After a brief stint with the Suns, Thomas was traded to the Celtics, where he helped put the team back on top.

Regrouping from the end of the “Big 3” era, Isaiah Thomas was the bench player that led Boston into the playoffs. After two first round exits, IT had an MVP-level season in 2017. Thomas led the Celtics to the best record in the East. Along with this, he led Boston to the Eastern Conference Finals. Despite taking the defending champion Cavaliers to six games, the Celtics lost.

A hip injury forever changed Isaiah Thomas’ career. Initially, the injury wasn’t viewed as very serious, but he was soon ruled out for half of the next season. This is when Thomas was traded to Cleveland for Kyrie Irving. The trade devastated Thomas and ruined his career, as he didn’t fit with the Cavs, which also boasted LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, at the time, so he was traded to the Lakers.

In LA, IT was no fit, so he signed with the Denver Nuggets, but soon found himself out of the NBA. He also had brief stints with the Wizards and Pelicans, before returning to the Lakers. In his debut, he scored 19 points, but it was a 10-day contract. Now, Thomas is on a 10-day with the Mavericks. Last night, IT scored his first points with the Mavericks. But, the result would be a loss to IT’s first team, the Kings.
