This past week, Wale has been the most-discussed rapper in the game and it has been a refreshing break from what has become “the norm” here in early 2013. Though most areas in the United States are still cold, it is spring now and summer is on the way. Like the previous two summers, Maybach Music is providing the soundtrack.
However, Wale plans to play a bigger role this year than he did last year. With the exception of his appearances on Self Made 2, Wale was absent in 2012. Releasing his album-quality Folarin mixtape, Wale included the “Bad” single with Tiara Thomas. The song has become one of 2013’s earliest hits and the video was released.
Making his media rounds in New York City, Wale dropped the “Bad” video on Wednesday and he visited MTV, BET, Power 105.1, and Hot 97. Along the way, Wale has explained the “Bad” single to the public. Because of the impact “Bad” has this week, Hip Hop Vibe chose it as the latest Video of the Week.
