A popular phrase used in the rap game is “hell and back.” The phrase is used in countless songs and is just as many titles. But, Kid Ink definitely put his stamp on the phrase in 2012. Kid Ink is a part of the “New West” movement, putting Los Angeles back on the map in the rap game.

Back in June, Kid Ink released his debut independent album, Up & Away, which met strong critical reviews. “Hell & Back,” the original became a popular track, popular enough for Kid Ink to do a remix. Going along with the premise of the song, Kid Ink needed the right feature, so he brought Machine Gun Kelly in.

The two put together a song, which has been highly-downloaded and shared throughout the internet. In addition to the audio success, the music video has also done very well. Released on Wednesday, Kid Ink and Machine Gun Kelly provided some of the best visuals, earning “Hell & Back” Hip Hop Vibe’s Video of the Week title.
