Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors | Game 1 | Full Game Highlights [VIDEO]

Golden State Warriors come from behind to beat Grizzlies in Game 1

Coming into this season, the Golden State Warriors had a lot of questions. Critics questioned if the Warriors could actually do it again. From 2014 until 2019, the Golden State Warriors were consistently the best team in the NBA. Only in 2018 and 2019 did the Warriors not own the NBA’s best record. Then, only in 2018 did the Warriors not finish with the West’s best record. Regardless, the Warriors went to the NBA Finals every year. The Warriors won the title in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

However, injuries prevented the Warriors from winning the 2019 title. Furthermore, injuries hampered the Warriors in 2020, but 2021 saw them make the play-in. Losses to the Lakers and Grizzlies kept the Warriors out of the official playoffs. While the Warriors struggled, the Lakers won a title, the Grizzlies became contenders, and the Phoenix Suns took over the world. Through the first three months of this season, none of that mattered, as the Warriors dominated.

The Golden State Warriors went from being tied with the Suns for the NBA’s best record to fighting Dallas for the third seed. Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies did nothing but ball out, all season long. As Ja won Most Improved, the Grizzlies tied a franchise record, at 56 wins. While the Warriors easily beat the Nuggets, the Grizzlies struggled with the Timberwolves. In the second round, the Warriors and Grizzlies had the play-in rematch. The Grizzlies are used to comeback wins, but the Warriors had one yesterday.

Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole came up big late. While Ja Morant led all scorers and Desmond Bane backed him up, it wasn’t enough.
