Golden State Warriors celebrating beating Mavericks in Game 5

The Golden State Warriors have gone through a lot, these past three years. By 2019, the Warriors were on their fifth straight NBA Finals appearance. When the Warriors faced the Toronto Raptors, some predicted they would sweep. Instead, the Warriors dealt with injuries to Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant. As a result, Kawhi Leonard would lead the Raptors to their first championship in franchise history.

The Golden State Warriors lost Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets in free agency. Along with losing Kevin Durant, the Warriors had to deal with Klay Thompson being out for the whole season. It turns out, Stephen Curry would also miss the bulk of the 2020 season. As a result, the Warriors fell to the NBA’s worst record. In 2020, Klay Thompson would rehab, but get injured again while training, hurting his Achilles. However, Stephen Curry played at an MVP level, but the Warriors lost in the play-in.

The Golden State Warriors were considered over by most, heading into this season. With the Lakers retooled, the Jazz coming off holding the NBA’s best record, and the Suns two wins from the title, they owned the new West. Plus, Luka Doncic and the Mavs had unfinished business. Last night, the Warriors concluded the West’s season. As the Warriors were eliminating the Mavericks, they were dancing. At the end, Stephen Curry did hug Luka Doncic.
