Giannis nearly cries after Danny Green hits him in the face with his forearm

All season, the NBA’s Eastern Conference has been a roller coaster. The 2021-22 season is the rare time where the East is better than the West. Still, the Phoenix Suns have not only managed to claim the NBA’s best record, they are the only 60 win team of the season. The one thing the Phoenix Suns don’t have is what the Milwaukee Bucks do, which is the championship. In Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals, Giannis dropped 50 on the Suns to overcome their 2-0 lead and win the title.

Prior to their title, the Milwaukee Bucks jumped into title contention. After three seasons of being a lower seeded playoff team, Giannis became the NBA’s best player. In 2019, Giannis led the Bucks to the NBA’s best record, at 60-22. He also won the MVP, as the Bucks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they blew a 2-0 lead to the Toronto Raptors. In 2020, Giannis won another MVP, as the Bucks won the equivalent of what was a 63-19 record.

After being upset by the Miami Heat in the 2020 bubble playoffs, the Bucks were an afterthought in the 2021 postseason. With James Harden joining the Nets, they were supposed to win. Meanwhile, 2021 was when the Sixers finally figured it out. Instead, this is when the Bucks won. A year later, James Harden plays for the Sixers. Last night, the Bucks were in Philly. Late in the game, Giannis caught an arm to the face from Danny Green. Giannis fought tears, but kept competing.
