Together with Dwyane Wade, that incarnation of the Heat went to four NBA Finals, and won two championships.
Even after LeBron James left, the Miami Heat remained a competitive team. The Heat stayed competitive, which is what led to Jimmy Butler joining Miami. Jimmy Butler was the Heat’s missing piece, as his leadership took the Heat to the NBA Finals in 2020. Everything about that Miami Heat run was unexpected, as they were the five seed, but came within two wins of the championship. Since then, the sole focus of the Miami Heat has been to get back there.
Last season, the Heat struggled, barely making the playoffs, and got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks. Early this season, the Miami Heat got off to a slow start. At the end of December, the Miami Heat regenerated their 2020 energy and took over the East. During last night’s home game, against the Warriors, things got intense. For whatever reason, Erik Spoelstra and Udonis Haslem got angry enough at Jimmy Butler to fight. Butler didn’t back down, but the teammates broke it up.
