From 2002 through 2005, the Ying Yang Twins emerged from Atlanta and they took the game over. Lil Jon properly introduced Crunk music to the game, but Ying Yang Twins perfected it with their run. In 2003, Ying Yang Twins released Me & My Brother, which was a tremendous success.

The first single off the album was “Salt Shaker” with Lil Jon, but Ying Yang Twins took over both BET and MTV with “What’s Happ’nin.” This song was the third single off the album and released during the summer of 2004. At the time, Trick Daddy was also a force in the game and he was on the single.

Hip hop has had many memorable eras, but this one was pivotal for a lot of the people making moves in the game now. So, because of that, this week the Wednesday Throwback features the Ying Yang Twins. A little life is given back to 2003-2004 with Ying Yang Twins and “What’s Happ’nin.”
