DJ YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: Angie Martinez ft. Lil’ Mo and Sacario – “If I Could Go”

Angie Martinez If I Could GoAngie Martinez is back in the headlines since she decided to leave Hot 97 in favor of joining Power 105.1. But, twelve years ago, Angie Martinez had transitioned into being a national recording artist. The move she made was ground-breaking and she has since helped redefine the game.

Since Angie Martinez is back in the spotlight, we decided to spotlight the last time she was getting press like this. This takes us back to 2002, when Angie Martinez dropped her Animal House sophomore album. The breakout single is “If I Could Go,” which is her signature track.

K.B. Tindal would definitely make an argument for her other music, but this record is the signature. So, for the Wednesday Throwback, the summer 2002 anthem, “If I Could Go” with Lil’ Mo and Sacario is featured. When Angie Martinez talked to “The Breakfast Club,” she told Charlamagne Tha God about her music career.
