DeAndre Ayton suffers a concussion after getting hit in the head

DeAndre Ayton has held the Phoenix Suns down as their defensive anchor. What’s happening with the Phoenix Suns has come out of nowhere, seemingly. However, DeAndre Ayton came into his own, during the bubble. Much has been said about the Suns’ 2020 eight game winning streak. Ayton coming into his own was a big part of that. This allowed Devin Booker to get out there and do what he does best. When the Suns added Chris Paul to the mix, it led to a title contender.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans had a complicated journey into the playoffs. After a 1-12 start, it looked like the Pelicans would be in the lottery. With Zion Williamson out for the season, the Pelicans were expected to struggle. However, Brandon Ingram stepped up as the New Orleans Pelicans leader. It sparked a turnaround that saw the Pelicans sneak into the play-in. The collapse of the Lakers allowed the Pelicans to earn a home court game in the play-in, where they beat the Spurs to play the Clippers.

The New Orleans Pelicans would stun the Los Angeles Clippers to make the playoffs. Last night, the Pelicans played the Phoenix Suns competitively. However, DeAndre Ayton on defense slowed the Pelicans down. In turn, Chris Paul on offense put the Pelicans away. DeAndre Ayton didn’t get away completely clean, though. He wound up hitting his head, coming away with a concussion.
