De’Aaron Fox injures Garrison Mathews, gets hit with Flagrant 2, and ejected from the game | Rockets at Kings

De’Aaron Fox ejected for Flagrant 2 against Garrison Mathews

Currently, the Sacramento Kings hold the longest playoff drought in the NBA. The team last played in the playoffs, in 2006, when Ron Artest played for the team. Even worse, the last time the Kings won a playoff series was 2004, when they eliminated the Dallas Mavericks in five games. To say the Kings have struggled is an understatement.

In 2013, it briefly looked like the Sacramento Kings would cease to exist as an organization. The franchise was sold to a Seattle group, where they would’ve been transformed into the Seattle SuperSonics. Given the rules of that situation, it’s no question that the Kings’ history would’ve been abandoned in favor of reactivating the Sonics’ history.

Thankfully, for the Kings’ fans, the sale ended up not going through. In the end, the Kings remained pat, but they have remained futile. Last night, though, the Sacramento Kings had the NBA’s biggest headline, when De’Aaron Fox got aggressive on defense. Playing the Houston Rockets, De’Aaron Fox decided to stop Garrison Mathews from scoring in the lane.

In the end, Fox ended up slamming Mathews to the ground, which did cause an injury. Because of the nature of the play, Fox was hit with a Flagrant 2, and ejected from the game. The Rockets would go on a run to close the game out. Houston would take the win, in Sacramento, at 118-112.
