Republic Records would sign Coi Leray and she kept releasing new music. Towards the end of 2019, Coi Leray generated a ton of interest in her music, which carried into 2020. By 2021, Coi Leray broke through with “No More Parties,” featuring Lil Durk.
Nicki Minaj, on the other had, silently took a step back from the game in 2015. A year after releasing her third album, The Pinkprint, Nicki Minaj went on a hiatus. During her third album run, Nicki Minaj saw other female rappers emerge successful for the first time in her run. Following this, Remy Ma returned with a hit, and she dropped a Nicki Minaj diss track. Of course, there was another sensation, and there was a beef that turned physical. That time period is when Coi Leray was making her moves.
These past two years have seen Coi Leray become one of the biggest rappers in the game. Though she sparks a lot of conversation, Coi Leray is having more success than her counterparts. For the past few weeks, Coi Leray has teased her collaboration with Nicki Minaj. The song is called “Blick Blick” and it finally dropped today. Along with the song, the official music video is out, and Coi Leray drops her album, Trendsetter, on April 8.
