Bobby Portis gets technical for taunting Cedi Osman after dunking on him
The Milwaukee Bucks have been building something special, for a few years. Few realized how pivotal their 2013-2014 season was. This was Giannis Antetokounmpo’s rookie season, when the Bucks went 15-67, just one year after making the playoffs. Soon, the Bucks would begin making the playoffs as a lower seed, losing in the first round to the Raptors and Celtics.
After the early playoff exits, the Bucks figured it all out. In 2019, the Bucks raced to the NBA’s best record and went up 2-0 over the Raptors, in the Eastern Conference Finals. The first two wins would be it for the Bucks, as Toronto swept the next four games. But, in 2020, the Bucks came out strong, but were impacted by the shutdown. While they maintained the NBA’s best record, the Miami Heat upset them in the second round.
Last season, the Bucks were a lower seed, at third in the East. But, in the playoffs, they figured it out, upsetting the Nets in the second round. When they arrived in the Conference Finals, they ended the Cinderella run Trae Young had the Hawks on. Then, in the Finals, they ruined Chris Paul and Devin Booker’s debut, overcoming the Phoenix Suns’ 2-0 lead. The Bucks won the championship, last season, but haven’t been in the discussion this year.
The East has seen the Bulls, Heat, Cavs, and Nets in the way. Tonight, Bobby Portis and the Bucks are playing the Cavs, where Portis put Cedi Osman on notice. After he dunked on him, Portis taunted him, and the officials gave him a technical foul.
