Jasmine Ortiz Pays Tribute to ‘God’s Plan’ in Video for Nostalgia Inspired Single, “21”

Multi-talented singer Jasmine Ortiz has released her new single “21.” This catchy pop hit was created after the end of a week-long non-stop writing session with multi-platinum music producer Cesar da Emperor

“‘21’ is a song about nostalgia and gratitude. The pandemic made me realize who really matters and how they’ve shaped my life,” Jasmine explains. “This is a love song to my childhood and college friends alike. As well as to my school where so many memories have been made. It’s paying homage to my ride or dies for their loyalty, love, and fortitude when I needed it the most. It’s about all of us turning 21 and where we will be in the next 21 to come.”

“21” is not the first single nor the last that Jasmine and Cesar da Emperor have collaborated on. Most recently, they worked together on her previous single, “Jaguar,” which garnered immediate attention with over 2 million views after only two days of its release. Cesar da Emperor is known for his work with other artists such as Post Malone, Tyga, Chris Brown, Diplo, Jay Sean, Sean Paul, Taemin, and many more. Cesar even added his own vocals in the pre-chorus of “21,” and listeners can expect more music to come from Jasmine and Cesar’s combined effort throughout the rest of 2021.

The music video for “21,” directed by Maria Picon, was filmed at the University of Miami, where Jasmine attends as a Foote Fellow and is considered to be one of their top students academically and artistically. She is only the second person ever permitted to film there, the only other being Drake for his “God’s Plan” music video. Jasmine pays homage to Drake in her own video for “21.”
