Young Thug and Gunna are on fire right now as they just scored the No. 1 album in the country with their “Slime Language 2” project, that was released last week. This is a compilation album from their Young Stoner Life record label. The deluxe edition was also put out a few days ago as it included additional features from DaBaby, NAV, and more.
Now, Thug and Gunna are giving back to their local Atlanta community. According to WSB-TV2, the two have posted bail for 30 low-level offenders from the Fulton County Jail this past weekend. Thug revealed that is is something that he and Gunna randomly decided to do as they got their lawyers on the phone and helped these inmates get back with their families.
“This is where we are from,” Thug explained. “We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and, you know, DA’s and the prosecutors, you know, the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out.”
Gunna also explained how there’s so many people who simply can’t even post bond for these minor offenses. He explained that this is oftentimes the case for many inmates and have to wait as long as four years to be able to have a chance to post some sort of bond.
“You never know what somebody been through,” said Gunna. “There was people sitting out three or four years and couldn’t get out on a bond. If they did the crime, then they can do the time, then it’s all right. But it’s like you’re giving them a bond higher than what they stole.”
Big salute to Thug and Gunna for these very generous efforts in their hometown. Congrats to them as well on the massive success of Slime Language 2 as well.
