Hip Hop Vibe’s first interview of the year was with Young Maylay. Known best to the world for his iconic role as ‘CJ’ on the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Young Maylay is also a legend on the West Coast. Signed to WC’s label, Big Swang, Young Maylay has made fans wait for his long-awaited project, Hogg Tied & Duct Taped, which appears to finally be in the works.
Perfection takes time, which is the main reason Young Maylay has continued to delay his project. Previously, Young Maylay released his street anthem, “Run the Blocc.” For his upcoming album, Young Maylay will remix “Run the Blocc,” with DJ Premier which will probably be the single to launch the project. Heading into the actual album release, Young Maylay will likely release more new music.
A prolific member of Twitter, Young Maylay often interacts with his fans. One fan asked when Young Maylay would release his album. Previously, Young Maylay promised the album sometime before the end of June 2013. But, in his response to the fan, Young Maylay gave a more concrete response. While no release date has been set, Young Maylay has announced his album will be released in June 2013, so fans have three months to prepare.
