Earlier this week, a private funeral was held for Young Dolph, in his hometown of Memphis. This was done quietly, as it’s now been two weeks, since Dolph was shot and killed, in South Memphis, at Makeda’s Cookies.
The two men who shot and killed Dolph are still at large, as police are still investigating where they may be, in Memphis. Their Mecedes-Benz getaway car, reportedly ended up being found, in a residential area, three miles away from Makeda’s.
Now, a public memorial for Dolph, will reportedly take place, on December 16, according to HipHopDX. This is an event that fans will be able to attend, as it’ll be held at FedExForum, the home of the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. This venue can hold 19,000 people. This news was revealed by Memphis, pastor, Earle Fisher.
“With all of the pomp and circumstance that elected officials and civic leaders have put around this heinous murder, we could do something to bring the people who have been involved in this to accountability and justice a whole lot sooner,” said Fisher. “The reality is there is a body being buried just about every day in Shelby County, and often we have people who are in powerful positions that have created policies that make these bodies pile up.”
Dolph’s casket has since been transferred to Calvary Cemetery. The church where the private memorial was held, was at the First Baptist Church Broad Avenue.
