Young Dolph murder suspect, Justin Johnson, sentenced to two years in prison, after violation of past weapons case

Young Dolph murder suspect Justin Johnson sentenced in gun case

Back in January, two suspects were put in custody, regarding the murder of Young Dolph. These were 23-year-old Justin Johnson and 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, who got hit with a first-degree murder charge. 28-year-old Shundale Barnettf was charged with after-the-fact accessory to first-degree murder.

Dolph was shot and killed in his hometown of Memphis, back in November. This incident occurred at Makeda’s Cookies, on the south side of the city.

Now, Johnson has earned time in prison. He has been sentenced to two years in prison, over a previous weapons case where he violated his supervised release, according to Action News 5. The violations are said to be “not being regularly employed, missing mandatory drug screenings and therapy, failing to seek permission before leaving the jurisdiction and being arrested.” The arrest for the Dolph murder case was also included. Judge Mark Norris added that Johnson “squandered” opportunities that were available to him.

However, Johnson was reportedly recently punched by an inmate, while on the phone. This occurred on March 18, at the Shelby County Jail.
