As an independent artist, there is no one who experienced the type of success Yo Gotti has over the past decade plus. Consistently, Yo Gotti has released mixtapes and street albums and each have gone on to be street legends. Before Memphis even became known as a hip hop city, outside of Three 6 Mafia, Yo Gotti held things down.
Obviously, there has been a lot of attention placed upon Yo Gotti because of his unwavering fan base. Label executives have longtime courted Yo Gotti, who has had deals, but primarily stayed independent. However, earlier today, Yo Gotti made a major change in his label status.
L.A. Reid took over at Epic Records during the summer of 2011. The first thing he did was sign Future and then followed up by signing fellow Atlanta rapper, Ca$h Out. Proving he not only scouts in Atlanta, L.A. Reid also signed Yo Gotti, evidenced by the photo he uploaded to Twitter earlier today.
