Among the first rappers to really make his way in the game and make money from mixtapes was Yo Gotti. Different from other rappers, he didn’t do mixtapes to gain mainstream looks. Simply, Yo Gotti did mixtapes and the mainstream came to him.
Yo Gotti has scored two major hits, “Act Right” in 2013, and then there was last year’s “Down In The DM.” Along the way, Yo Gotti formed a partnership with Epic Records. He closed his deal years before Khaled and Diddy.
Able to use the partnership at his full discretion, Yo Gotti decided to add another artist to his CMG roster. The latest addition is Money Bag Yo and Gotti is high on this one. Not only did he meet him in person with $200,000 in cash for the signing bonus, he also filmed the encounter.
