Through the course of his career, YG has managed to succeed by staying true to himself. While he rarely gets credit for it, YG is primarily responsible for “Bompton” becoming a household name. Of course, this is the street slang version of Compton.

For years, the street culture of Compton, and the rest of Los Angeles, has been apart of pop culture. Such movies as Boyz N The Hood helped to heighten this. But, much more influential is games such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto V.

Some have argued child stars, such as Soulja Boy and Chris Brown are more influenced by pop culture than actual street life. Both have taken to social media and the actual to tell their reasoning for this life. But, YG had a message for all of the people not really from “Bompton.”
