Yelawolf is out at Shady Records?

Due to creative freedom, many artist-run hip hop record labels are praised. But, the downside to these labels is the lack of music when the artist/CEO goes on hiatus. Eminem stopped making new music in 2004 and his label went inactive until his 2009 return. Upon his return, however, Eminem signed Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf to Shady Records.

Yelawolf is a native of Alabama and earned comparisons to Eminem. The two had completely different styles, but their comparison was not race. Instead, Yelawolf’s vocal patterns were eerily similar to Eminem’s. Having a Southern drawl was the only difference between Yelawolf and Eminem, when it comes to vocals.

In 2011, Yelawolf released his Radioactive album. Throughout 2012, Yelawolf spoke on a sophomore album, which went unreleased. Instead, Yelawolf released a joint EP with rocker/hip hopper, Travis Barker. It is looking like Shady Records had no involvement with this, as rumors have Yelawolf either leaving or already gone from Shady Records.
