Tonight is Grammy night and the 55th Annual Grammy Awards are taking place in the next couple of minutes. Once again, the hip hop segment of the ceremony did not broadcast on television. Instead, the awards were given out before the actual ceremony took place.
Many of the biggest rappers in the game were nominated for Grammys. For the second consecutive year, Lupe Fiasco was nominated for awards. Meanwhile, Nas scored his first-ever Grammy nomination. The usual suspects, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, and Rick Ross were all up for Grammys.
Jay-Z and Kanye West took home the ‘Best Rap Performance’ for “Niggas in Paris.” For the award of ‘Best Rap Song,’ Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Niggas in Paris” also won. Meanwhile, Drake brought home the ‘Best Rap Album’ for his sophomore album, Take Care.
