Years before the internet became the monster it is today, sensational media was the basis of an episode of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” A show hailed by most younger people as the best ever, many plotlines were visited on the show. Entertainment was the main one.

Will Smith played the character of Will Smith, who grew up with his aunt, uncle, and cousins in the Greater Los Angeles area. While becoming a good student, Will found work in the entertainment industry. Before this, he went the freelance route.

In the episode, “Will’s Up A Dirt Road,” Will Smith becomes a celebrity photographer, paparazzi. He winds up getting a photo of Jay Leno and pitching it to a fictional version of the National Inquirer. When he pitched his photos to the editor, Will Smith blabs about what would become one of the elements of TMZ, capturing photos of celebrities at their homes and writing stories around it, which the editor laughed off until he realized Will had a photo of Jay Leno, landing the fictional Will in hot water.
