Wildcatter Saloon, a Bar in Katy, TX, Where DMX Was Supposed To Perform in May, Will Still Hold Tribute Show in His Memory; May Have Busta Rhymes, Trae Tha Truth or Snoop Dogg as Headliner

It’s been over two weeks now since hip-hop tragically lost DMX at the age of 50. News has since been received that his funeral will he held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, on April 24. A private service will also be held in front of his loved ones somewhere in NYC the next day.

DMX had plenty of shows coming up before his passing. One was in Katy, TX, at Wildcatter Saloon, a local bar. Despite the original show now not happening due to the legendary rapper’s death, this venue will still be honoring X, per TMZ. The owner told the outlet that he and his team were huge fans of X and getting him to perform at Wildcatter was something that took a while to make happen.

This show will now be a tribute show in X’s honor on May 29. The setup will be similar in that opening acts will remain the dame, which include Tone Royal and hip-hop/rock band Coozablack & Sin City. These artists will cover a few DMX songs as the search is still on for a headliner for this show.

The list of potential headliners includes fellow hip-hop legends such as Busta Rhymes, Trae Tha Truth, or maybe even Snoop Dogg. This is a solid move by Wildcatter Saloon. It’ll definitely be interesting to see if other venues follow suit in making these DMX tribute shows happen as well.
