Currently, television is filled with diversity and such shows as “Power,” “Empire,” “Atlanta,” “Rosewood,” and “Here We Go Again” have put many people in starring roles. Among them is Donald Glover, Taraji P. Henson, Morris Chestnut, Omari Hardwick, and LeToya Luckett.
Arguably, the precedent for this was set by “The Game” and it emerged during a rough time for ethnic programming. A spinoff of “Girlfriends,” although now forgotten, it premiered on The CW. The birth of the network led to the demise of many popular urban shows.
Now, with all of the new forms of media and the outlets that have risen from it, many big names are back to work. Last year, “The Game” concluded its four year run on BET and ninth, overall, year. Taking a trip down memory lane, Wendy Raquel Robinson recently spent time with Coby Bell, Brittany Daniel, Tia Mowry, and Hosea Chanchez, sharing the moment on her Instagram.
