Credited for putting the Washington, DC hip hop scene on the map, Wale is currently riding the success of The Album About Nothing. Few rappers could get Jerry Seinfeld to do an actual album with them. It goes a step further with Wale, as he is now doing a TBS promo on “Seinfeld” reruns.
Wale is doing well since his split from Jay Z’s Roc Nation and his album proves this. In actuality, Wale’s entire label, Maybach Music, is doing very well. The only downside was Rick Ross having to spend a couple of days in jail to begin the official start of summer.
During the Essence Music Festival, Wale sat down with Hip-Hop Wired and he spoke on some of the issues surrounding him and his team. He spoke on Rick Ross being in jail and what is going on with that situation. But, he went onto discuss his next album, revealing it will be a go-go album, which reflects on his DC background.
