Often overlooked, Waka Flocka Flame is a native of New York City. However, he was raised in Atlanta. Alongside his cousins, Frenchie and Yung Joey, Waka Flocka Flame spent time going back and forth between New York City and Atlanta. But, it would be down South where Waka made his name.
Like the rest of the world, Waka Flocka Flame was saddened by the damage the superstorm, Hurricane Sandy, did to New York City and its surrounding areas. Several benefits have taken place for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Jus Daze is among the artists did fundraisers for Hurricane Sandy’s victims.
Now, Waka Flocka Flame is doing his part for the city that birthed him. On February 21, 2013, DJ Self will be presenting Waka Flocka Flame’s benefit concert “Waka Flocka and Friends.” The event will take place at B.B. King’s and the doors open at 11:30 pm.
